The Legacy Service ofHG Srimati Syamarani (Jadurani) Dasi
This project represents the embodiment of HG Srimati Syamarani Dasi's vision
and the creation of a living legacy of devotion and cultural transmission.
A Life in Devotional Service
In 1966, at the very dawn of the Hare Kṛṣṇa movement in the Western world, a young woman encountered His Divine Grace Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda. Like so many sincere souls of that era, she did not simply “join” ISKCON — she gave her life.
That devotee is Jadurani Dasi, also known as Syamarani Dasi.
For six decades Srimati Syamarani Dasi has given her life and her energy in service to Śrīla Prabhupāda, his mission, and his instructions with unwavering sincerity. From the earliest days of ISKCON, when everything was uncertain and fragile, until today she is firmly engaged in loving service — quietly, steadily, and selflessly.
She never sought prominence or recognition. Her life has been one of surrender, humility, and perseverance, continuing her service faithfully to her Dikṣā Guru's (initiating spiritual teacher) mission under her Sikṣā Gurus (instructing spiritual teachers) and senior Vaiṣṇavas long after Śrīla Prabhupāda’s physical departure.

The Art of Spiritual Life
One of her principal services is sacred art. Under the direct guidance of her Gurus Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Goswami Maharaja she helps to visually reveal Kṛṣṇa consciousness to the modern world. Her paintings are not merely illustrations, they are windows to the spiritual world. Through her hands, Vedic philosophy becomes approachable and devotion becomes visible.
Her artwork went on to fill Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books, BBT publications, temples, and preaching materials across the world. Generations of devotees, many without even realizing it, first meet Kṛṣṇa through her brush. Children learn the pastimes of the Lord by gazing at her paintings. Newcomers feel their hearts soften when words alone might not be enough.
As an artist, editor, teacher, speaker, and spiritual guide, she works tirelessly to share the sacred teachings and Vedic knowledge about God and self realization all over the world.

A thriving legacy in Miami: Sacred Vedic Arts
Now well into her later years, with delicate health, Syamarani Dasi could have chosen rest. Instead, she is choosing one more offering, and what an offering it is!
For the past five years, Srimati Syamarani Dasi, Vasanti Dasi, and a small group of devotees have founded and nutured a vibrant temple in Miami, Florida, operating from a modest rented house. Despite limited resources, this Bhakti-yoga cultural center has already blossomed into a vibrant community with daily devotional programs, Harikatha, sacred arts, book distribution and outreach, where truly all are welcome.
Today, Sacred Vedic Arts is flourishing and there is a youthful enthusiasm reminiscent of the 1960s and 70s, the early days of the movement in the West. At the heart of this growth is the spiritual guidance of Srimati Syamarani Dasi and the Guru lineage she represents, carrying forward the teachings of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Goswami Maharaja.

The Vision: The Sacred Vedic Arts Community
The Sacred Vedic Arts Community is the natural continuation of this lifetime of service: A permanent home where these teachings, the 5 sacred arts (visual, literary, ceremonial, culinary and performing arts) and traditions can be preserved, shared, and carried forward for the generations to come. A space acting as a magnet for high association and amplified, electrified Sanatana Dharma and Sadhana Bhakti Yoga.
Syamarani Dasi’s vision is not merely to move into a larger building. She envisions a living legacy, an extension of everything she has done for the past 60 years. The project includes the purchase of 5 acres of land in the Miami area to establish a self-sustaining devotional community.
The Legacy Project will expand SVA's mission to:

Why This Moment Matters
Syamarani Dasi is now in the final chapter in her current body. She is no longer traveling. Her health no longer allows for extensive outreach beyond Miami. Yet her heart remains fully invested in nurturing devotees globally, guiding artists and establishing a spiritual home that will continue long into the future.
She is not asking for comfort. She is asking for service to Srila Prabhupada's mission instead.
She has disciples, students, and followers prepared to carry this project forward into the future. What is needed now is the collective support of the worldwide devotional community and beyond to help her establish the foundation.
For decades, we have received …
Now we are given the opportunity to give back.
